The FOLIO Implementation Group heard a brief update on Capacity Plan Team work for Q3 and general updates from recently-implemented libraries. They welcomed Lucy Liu, liaison for the Shanghai libraries working on FOLIO.
The Metadata Management SIG talked through the proposed management of MARC authority data in FOLIO and the implications for development priorities. Most libraries represented on the SIG did not consider development of authorities functionality in MARCcat a high priority. Several consider development of holdings functionality as much more important.
The Reporting SIG is planning to survey FOLIO participating institutions to gather more information on their reporting needs and plans. The SIG is also preparing the FOLIO Forum presentation, “FOLIO Reporting Update on Community-Developed Reports,” which is scheduled for Wednesday July 15 from 11:00am to 12:30pm ET. (You can watch the FOLIO Forum on YouTube Live: https://www.youtube.com/c/OpenLibraryFoundation, no pre-registration is required.) The presentation will feature demonstrations of report queries from Resource Access, Resource Management, and Metadata Management. Report development subgroups continue generating and testing report prototypes and queries for all FOLIO functional areas (RA/UM, MM, RM, and ERM). The FOLIO profile of the Library Data Platform now supports Course reserves. Test course reserves data are available in the FOLIO Reporting Reference Environment for query development and testing. The LDP project has released LDP version 1.0.3. The Reporting Data Privacy subgroup is working with the Resource Access SIG to analyze GDPR requirements for reports on active borrowers.
The Resource Access SIG discussed priority/timing of finishing ‘declared lost using actual cost’ versus ‘aged to lost.’ They reviewed the work of the item status group, discussed item search and select pop-up needs and reviewed initial UI.
The Community Outreach SIG released a press release: “FOLIO Libraries Announcing Implementations and Timelines as the Open Source Library Platform Nears Significant Milestone”. The full article can be found in the news section of the FOLIO website. A second press release highlighting the Goldenrod release will come out at the end of the month.
