FOLIO Project Update – Week of November 11, 2019

Lisa McColl gave a demo of Command Line Interface editing of default MARC to Instance mapping rules using Postman to the Metadata Management SIG. Magda Zacharska shared some additional tips for using Postman. The SIG discussed possible workshops for both Postman and CQL querying at WOLFCon.

The Reporting SIG has been preparing reporting topics for WolfCon in January 2020. LDP (Library Data Platform) data warehouse setup and LDP query writing training will be offered, as well as sessions with functional areas to review RA/UM/MM/RM reports. LDP developers have just released version 0.3.0 of the LDP software, which is focused on data loading performance and substantive new features, such as 85+ tables covering almost all remaining FOLIO data (not yet including ERM and MARC, but plans are underway to include these areas soon). Report query writers continue to focus on building the highest priority report prototypes and queries. The development team needs additional SQL and Java programmers, so please contact the team if you have staff resources who can help.

The Sys Ops & Mgt SIG solidified three session proposals for WolfCon:

  1. System update strategies – updating modules and databases, and planning expectations for how the system will work.
  2. Infrastructure – with special focus on the Texas A&M Folio infrastructure.
  3. Database solutions & Backup strategies – finding solutions for a high-availability database production system and determining viable solutions for a recommended backup strategy.
